EVE Online Review 1

So, What’s EVE All About Then?

Eve is a titanic, slow moving sandbox game. Take all the elements of WoW that seem to make it so popular and turn them on their head. Grinding can only be used to net you ISK, money and loot. It takes several months in order to be able to get to where you want to be if you set your goals high.

You see EVE Online does things very differently. In fact as an MMO is all in a class of its own. Here’s the setting pitch:

Humanity spreads to the stars using warp technology and jump gate. On their way, they find a massive natural wormhole they called EVE. Naturally, they go through it and explore the other side, and start to colonize the system which they call “New Eden”. Slowly, humanity spreads across the stars on the other side of the wormhole, they grow, they prosper. Then something bad happens...

To be continued.

ISK ISK ISK!!!

ISK ISK ISK! This game seems to be all about isk. You may ask what an isk is? Well I have to tell you that in this game, isk is like gold in WoW or money in Command and Conquer and many other games! It's the key to success of this game. You need ISK to buy every gunship, weapon and tool in this game.
In order to get isk in this game, you can do several jobs. One is mining. You can mine to get isk. In order to mine you need some mining lasers and a good transport ship. I used a ship called Bantman:

It's a suitable ship for this job as it has some capacity bonus which will help get more isk per mission :)

Eve online started

Hi guys

I have been playing eve-online with a trial account now for almost five days now. It's been great so far. I've played EQ, WoW and City of heroes/villains. They're all fun for a week or two, but after that you realize that they really are copies of each other trying to emulate a specific success by doing nothing new, just pasting a new skin over what is nothing more than a pixel grind.

That's why EvE is a breath of fresh air to me. Not only is it not a grind to the best loots, it's a harsh and unforgiving game. I love this, because to those who use their heads, it's a great advantage and opportunity for much excitement and profit. Killing someone actually has a consequence for both players!

I'll blog more about my experiences as I advance more in the game.
